Chessfactor is an online chess education platform with videos, exercises and games that help you to improve faster in chess. Chessfactor offers a wide range of instructive and structured chess material for users with different rating levels.

Who is Chessfactor for?

Chessfactor is suitable for many users, whether you're an absolute Beginner or Advanced player we offer guided learning paths and structured courses for any level. Our path for absolute Beginners will teach you the basics you need to know to play a game from start to finish. The other paths are tailored for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced players.

Which browsers are supported by Chessfactor?

Chessfactor works best with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.

Is the Chessfactor platform supported on mobile devices?

Actually, the platform runs on mobile devices. However, we recommend to use the website on tablets and desktop devices as the look and feel of the website on mobile devices is different. It is planned to release in the upcoming months an app with an improved user experience.

Which payment methods do you accept?
At the moment we only accept payments with credit card (VISA & Mastercard) as well as payments with PayPal. For the future it is planned to implement a payment gateway that supports crypto currencies.
Why do memberships with PayPal do not renew automatically?

Unfortunately, only memberships that were purchased with credit card do renew automatically. Memberships that were purchased with PayPal need to be renewed by the user manually once the membership expired.

How does the refund work?

Currently we offer a 30-day money back guarantee for the yearly and 2-year subscription models for all first-time subscribers. In case you´re not satisfied with our product, please contact us at [email protected] for further assistance.

Can I upgrade my membership model?

Upgrading can be done at any time and the upgrade price will be pro-rated according to the time used and time remaining. The upgrade price will show in the checkout process. Downgrades take effect after the expiration of the original subscription. For help, please contact us at [email protected]

Which currencies are supported for the checkout?

At the moment we provide purchases with US Dollars, Euros and Swiss Francs. During the checkout process you can select between one of those currencies according to your preferences. Please note that the conversation rates between the currencies might not reflect the real-time exchange rates.

How can I use a coupon code?

In case you have a valid coupon code, you can use it on the checkout page. After you typed in the code and clicked on the "Apply Coupon Code" button, the discount you receive will be displayed on the checkout page.

Do I get an invoice for my purchase?

Usually, you should get after each purchase a payment confirmation via email. In addition to that, you can download invoices to all of your purchases in the "My Account - Subscription" section.

How do I cancel my recurring subscription?

You can cancel your running subscription at any time by clicking on the "Stop Subscription" button on the "My Account - Subscription" page. Please note that subscriptions with PayPal no not renew automatically.

Why has my payment failed?

If your payment has returned as failed, please check with your bank or credit card provider, or attempt to make a new payment with a different card.

How can I create an account?

You can create your own Chessfactor account by registering on our platform via email or Facebook. After you registered and verified your email address, you can enter the platform and start your chess journey.

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your account on your own on the "My Account - Delete Account" page. Please bear in mind that deleting your account cannot be undone and as a consequence you will lose all your progress.

How can I change my password?

You can change your password on the "My Account - Change Password" page. To go there, you have to click on your profile picture placed in the header. If you click there a dropdown menu opens and if you select "My Account" you enter the "My Account" section with four selectable tabs. If you click on the "Change Password" tab, you enter the page where you can change the password.

Why is sign up with Facebook not working?

In case you cannot sign up with Facebook please contact us at [email protected] and we try to assist.

What happens if my subscription expires?

If your subscription expires, all the PRO content (excluding courses that you bought separately) won't be accessable for you anymore. You will keep your progress and when you renew your subscription, you can continue learning right away.

I forgot my password what to do?

On the "Login" page there is a link "Forgot?" that you can click on. If you clicked on that link, a new page appears where you can type in the email address that you used for the registration on the platform. After you clicked on the reset password button, you should receive an email with instructions to reset your password.

What is a path?

A path is a customized and guided learning track that help you to learn and improve different chess topics. A path is built up of several units that contain videos, exercises and training sets.

Can I build my own path?

With the "My Path" functionality you`re able to build your own path based on your preferences. You can add several courses from our course library and create your own personalized learning plan.

Which is the right path for me?

At the moment we offer five different learning paths for different levels. Our paths are designed to match different ELO ranges. Based on your ability level, you can select between the following paths:

  1. ELO 0-1000: Elementary
  2. ELO 1000-1200: Beginner
  3. ELO 1200-1400: Improver
  4. ELO 1400-1600: Intermediate
  5. ELO 1600-1800+: Advanced

What is a course?

Courses are built up of lessons and training sets and deal with special chess topics for different levels. Right now, we offer special courses for opening, middlegame and endgame topics prepared from several instructors. Each course contains videos and associated exercises. Can I suggest a course, topic or offer product feedback?

Can I download the video material?

Unfortunately, this will not be possible, since Chessfactor has been created by implementing certain learning procedures and unique structures. Without these you won`t be able to efficiently work on improving your chess skills which stands for our commitment to this project. We hope for your understanding, thank you.

Does Chessfactor have a mobile app?

Right now, we do not have a native app for mobile devices.

What is a Streak and how to maintain it?

The streak that is visible in your header counts the days in a row you were active on the platform. Being not active on the platform results in a loss of the streak.
