About the course
The French Defense is a good and very common defensive strategy against white’s first move 1.e4. This opening is characterized by the following move sequence: 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 where white claims the center, while black challenges the e4-pawn. In this course, we will have a look on the most common lines and discuss different plans and strategies around them in order to give you a deep understanding of this opening. As the French Defense gained big popularity and as 1.e4 is frequently played, this opening belongs in everyone's repertoire.
