About the course

The Ruy Lopez opening which is also called the Spanish opening is a common used opening in chess and characterized by the following move order 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5. The Ruy Lopez opening which also belongs to the double king’s pawn openings (1.e4 e5), is one of the most played openings and contains a vast number of variations. In this couse we will cover the most common lines and discuss typical ideas, strategies and plans. This opening is used from beginners to world champions and every chess player should have this opening in his repertoire.

GM Mackenzie Molner

Mac Molner is an American chess player and gained the grandmaster title in 2013. Besides being an active chess player he also works as a chess coach and commentator at chess tournaments. He has many national titles to his name, including being the 2013 US Open Co-Champion. He also represented the US in the World Junior Championships and started recently writing for the American Chess Magazine.
