About the course
The Ruy Lopez is an incredibly popular opening at all levels of chess, from the amateur player up to top level grandmasters. It is considered as one of the best openings for white after the moves 1.e4 e5. Therefore, it is a very good opening to familiarize yourself with. The major topics that we’re going to look at, are of course the Exchange Variation that arises after 4.Bxc6 and popular 4…Nxe4 Variations of the Berlin Defense, which is also called the Berlin Wall. We will also cover the Modern Steinitz Defense as well as the Anderssen Variation of the Morphy Defense. In addition to that, common opening traps that can arise in the different systems of the Ruy Lopez will be covered. If you like the sound of it and you want to explore the Ruy Lopez further, please join and let’s get ready to begin. This course is intended for all players, from beginners to advanced players with a FIDE rating of 1000-2000+ ELO. A complete set of PGNs of everything covered in this course can be downloaded and will help you to analyze it at your own pace and convenience.
